I was trying to clear space on my laptop today, since apparently having 2gb left on my hard drive doesn’t quite make me an adult. At some point, I got hopelessly distracted by my writing folder and found some notes I took during my freshman year trip to Ufa – the Branson, Missouri of Russia. Well, no, I’m being a little harsh. But to be fair, 2010 was a tough year for Russian fashion. So here are the notes, presented without commentary:
Coming to Russia, I think that the other girls in this town dress a little… different. Subtlety is not their strong suit
What I’ve seen today are are:
- short short-shorts with heels (before noon)
- see-through shirts: no bra
- tight minidresses, some with Robert Pattinson’s face on it
- bedazzling
- shirt/pant combos in one color
- pink leopard print
- glitter, beading, and embroidery on dresses – all at the same time
